Welcome to the AMADEUS Home Page!

The AMADEUS Project is a multidisciplinary research effort among faculty from Civil & Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering and Computer Science.

The major research objectives are:

1) to design and implement an information technology-based system for real-time and adaptive engineering-geologic mapping, analysis, and design of underground excavations in rock

2) to enhance teaching efforts related to engineering geology, mining, rock mechanics and computer science.  These objectives are being accomplished through ten tasks which can be broadly grouped into data gathering, geologic and geomechanical modeling, and data interpretation. Virtual environments will be used to visualize and interact with the geologic and geomechanical models in real time.  The links at left are gateways to more information.
